Ensure your Etsy videos shine by following best practices like ideal resolution, creative storytelling, and product-focused visuals.
Etsy accepts a wide range of video formats like MP4, MOV, FLV, AAC, AVI, 3GP, MPEG and the highest file size they accept is 100 MB.
The ideal resolution for the videos are at least 1080p (1920 x 1080) for clarity. But depending on your product and the story you want to tell, 720p (1280 x 720) might also be acceptable.
Note: Once you upload the video, it will not contain any audio.
ETSY only accepts video duration of 5-15 seconds.
Taking care of the format is not the only important part in ETSY. Videos play a significant role in selling your products on Etsy, so it’s essential to follow best practices.
ETSY only allows one video per listing so this 15 seconds is really important real estate. You should plan your videos in advance so that it fits.
If the plan doesn’t work out, just clip your videos and keep the most eye catchy and important parts.
For clipping you can use various tools both online and offline.
Some great offline tools for that are – Capcut, Easy Video Maker, Animaker, Windows Movie Maker etc.
If you don’t want to use any software and rather have an online service than Adobe, Clideo, Veed.io are some of the good options.
ETSY has a video cropping option of their own. When you upload your video in ETSY, the crop option will appear and you can work your way through that.
If you want to learn more about this, here’s ETSY’s own article about it.
