If you are among the many who are asking the question – “How do I make an animated mockup in Photoshop?”, we got you covered.
In this short tutorial you’ll learn how to make animated video mockups like the example below in Photoshop.
First thing first, let’s collect a video enabled PSD file from resources like mockupworld and start the process.
For this example, we choose to work with the sample below.
And the design we’re going to put here is this –
After collecting the mockup and design resources, let’s open the animated video mockup in Photoshop.
After opening it, in the layer panel, there will be a smart object layer. In this case, the smart object is named – “Change This”. It can be named anything depending on the maker. Check documentation when getting or buying a video mockup PSD.
Now, like any other PSD mockup, double click the smart object layer and the current design will open in a different window.
We will have to put our design here and resize it to fit the smart object.
Now the mockup file will look like any other static mockup.
Then we have to save the file for the web or press ctrl+alt+shift+S. This option might take some time depending on your hardware.
After it’s saved, click on the animation looping option to forever instead of once and hit play. Now you would see your animated GIF playing in Photoshop.
After this step is done, you don’t have to do anything else, just save the file and use it anywhere you want.
